Custom PBR materials
Custom materials from references, samples or scan data.
Tileable or asset-specific materials delivered as maps, SBSARs, Designer graphs or engine-ready setups.
Relevant visual proof
Custom surface work across three material families.
Scope
Built for the actual shot, asset or pipeline.
Before authoring starts, we set the renderer or engine, camera distance, texel density, required maps, packing, bit depth, variants and source-file requirements.
The workflow can be procedural, scan-based, modeled or hybrid. The method follows the material and delivery spec.
Typical deliverables
- Seamless and tileable PBR textures
- Base color, normal, roughness and height maps
- Metallic, AO, opacity and custom outputs
- Substance Designer SBS source files
- Parameterized SBSAR materials
- Material variations and presets
- Engine-specific export setup
- Preview renders and material documentation
Material range
Organic and manufactured surfaces.
Stone, concrete, wood, fabric, polymers, coated metals, terrain, food, footwear and product finishes. Existing scans and materials can also be cleaned, retiled or rebuilt.
FAQ
Can you match a material from photographs or references?
Yes. The process begins by identifying the macro structure, mid-scale breakup and micro surface response that make the reference recognizable. The final workflow depends on reference quality and the required degree of control.
Are source files included?
SBS, SBSAR and working source files can be included when agreed in the project scope. Flattened map delivery is also available when the team only needs final textures.
Which software and engines are supported?
Outputs can be prepared for Unreal Engine, Unity, Blender and other standard PBR pipelines. Map packing, normal orientation, resolution and naming are confirmed before production.
Can you create both realistic and stylized materials?
Yes. The same production principles apply: establish a clear visual target, control scale and map relationships, then match the project's art direction consistently.
Planning
Confirm whether custom work is the right buy.
Compare custom PBR materials with stock textures, review the material project pricing guide, or use the project brief builder for an actual scope check.
